These tortillas look identical to the ones I make! I use lard, as well- it's a New Mexico family recipe. I don't like thin tortillas. Give me thick plump ones that look just like yours. I had to laugh at the scorch marks- back home, they weren't done unless you had them! Mine get rolled out with a small rolling pin made from a broom handle, though. It was a gift from my grandmother who used it to make her tortillas. :-) Sue
YUM. We would be in so much trouble around here if I learned how to do this. So, I think I will just gaze lovingly at your pics...
ReplyDeleteOkay now I want tortillas! Yum.I enjoyed my visit to your lovely blog. Wishing you happiness, Katherine
ReplyDeleteThat would certainly be put to good use around here! Might have to get one!

ReplyDeleteI have a press. I make my own corn tortillas (to die for). Didn't know I could press flour tortillas. I'm going to have to try it. Thanks
