My mom loved strawberries. I can remember them being a staple on the counter next to the sink all summer long. Her favorite was to slice them, sprinkle with sugar, and let them sit a while to make their own syrup. Yum!
To fill them with this VERY tasty strawberry puree:
I poured it over the cupcakes and let it soak in
just like a rum cake.
For the minis, I piped the puree inside.
There's still the frosting.
I was on a hunt for a
dark chocolate frosting
recipe that makes the final result very shiny,
smooth, and full of chocolate.
This is on Martha Stewart's website
and it is exactly what I wanted.
It looks just like chocolate I would use for
It's made with a LOT of semi-sweet chocolate.
It's not quite ready. One more thing -
Now she's done.
Oh my, this turned out soooo good!
When you bite down into the center,
you get a bite of strawberry soaked cake
and smooth chocolate.
A perfect match.
